The Product Designer will be responsible for developing original concepts for all Aurora product divisions, creating sketches and final art specs for design development and making recommendations for material and trim. Under the guidance of the Product Development Director, Creative Design Manager and Quality Control Supervisor, follow samples through the manufacturing, product review and approval processes.
Skills & Experience
Essential Functions:
- Gather market data on key fashion and home trends
- Translate trends into concepts that fit Aurora’s brand’s and licenses
- Identify piece types and products for potential development
- Keen creative vision including style, color and pattern direction
- Collaborate with Product Development Team members
- Prepare presentation materials for line meetings
- Responsible for developing original concepts
- Develop concepts, following established line/trend direction
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Design or Fine Arts
- Minimum 5 years design background –Toy Design and/or Gift Design experience
- Proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator
Other Skills:
- Strong verbal and written skills. Must be comfortable presenting ideas to PD Management
- Team player with the ability to work with PD Department members, as well as, independently on tight deadlines
- Knowledge of Toy/Giftware manufacturing processes a plus
